All the way from Småland, the collected views, amusements and inspirations of a bunch of copywriters working at IKEA Communications. How many times does a word have to be used before it ends up in the dictionary?
New to latest edition of Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary are some favorites like: mash-up, f-bomb, craft beer, flexitarian, tipping point, life coach, game changer, etc.
This gives me pause and makes me realize how daunting it can be to write for an international company when it takes America this long to put such aforementioned words in the dictionary.
There’s also man cave now. Does that mean we can start a man cave section on the IKEA website?
The full list of newly approved and added words is here.
