All the way from Småland, the collected views, amusements and inspirations of a bunch of copywriters working at IKEA Communications. Here comes the small print: "The posts here are the authors own and are not necessarily the views of IKEA." Hopefully nothing else we put on here will be as boring as that.
EXPEDIT is definitely one of my favorite IKEA products. It appeals to my overly orderly nature and kooky alignment preferences (I like squares and I like them evenly aligned). My EXPEDIT is filled with books. Glorious, old-fashioned, honest-to-god, printed-on-paper books. But here’s the thing about books. They don’t lend themselves to perfect alignment. At any given time you’ll find a handful of rogue books jutting out from the rows I’ve painstakingly put them in. (Classic “white people problems”).
Until recently I’ve been living with this condition. Suffering, as my family will attest, in non-silence. But all that is behind me now because the other week I discovered the answer to what ails me.
It’s called Rekordit (Estonian for “record”) and it is awesome. Not only will it hide my troublesome books, but it will solve the problem of the crooked pile of records currently living in my closet. So, ya know, two birds and all that.
