Smörgåsbloggers

All the way from Småland, the collected views, amusements and inspirations of a bunch of copywriters working at IKEA Communications. Here comes the small print: "The posts here are the authors own and are not necessarily the views of IKEA." Hopefully nothing else we put on here will be as boring as that.

More proof that IKEA stores really are playgrounds for grow-ups.

This is just one shot in a series entitled, Lead by Girlfriend” created by Russian photographer Murad Osman. See more here: http://goo.gl/qu08K

Apparently Instagram user ‘ingvarkamprad’ is a #nofilter kinda guy. Colour me skeptical on all accounts.

Another random, lovely Instagram image tagged #ikea. Yes, another cat. You’ve got me figured out, don’t you?

So here’s to you, @bartologuily. With so many ICOMers out sick this week, I think we all just need a hug.

IKEA Insta-glory

Another random, lovely Instagram image tagged #ikea. Cause even dinosaurs have their long days at work.

Dino goes homes

So here’s to you, @glcollins9. I hope the tail made it in.

IKEA Insta-glory

Another random, lovely Instagram image tagged #ikea. Why this one? Because if we took these kinds of photos every once in awhile, I could stop writing ‘machine-washable.’

So here’s to you, @azizul_my. Thanks for reminding me to spread the word about Soft Toys for Education, during which the IKEA Foundation donates €1 for every soft toy sold in participating IKEA stores in November and December. The donation goes to Save the Children and UNICEF, and is spent on children’s educational projects.

People post Instagram shots of meals out, so why not use those pictures to help sell the food? So goes the theory at Comodo in New York City. I can dig the honesty and confidence behind asking customers to create a diners-eye view of the menu, not so much digging the corny restaurant music.

So here’s to you, @gredzhik. That plump little bird JULMYS ornament is on my wish list, too, cat.

Another random, lovely Instagram image tagged #ikea coming up. No prize. Just fun.

So here’s to you, @prestige_cc. Seven months in a tree, apparently. How’s that for durability? I hope at least one squirrel has used that IKEA bag as some sort of amusement park ride and/or hammock.

IKEA Insta-glory

Another random, lovely Instagram image tagged #ikea coming up. No prize. Just fun. Now with even more fur.

So here’s to you, @eceogut. We don’t test our products for cat-play potential, but clearly we should.

So here’s to you, @melissamariechristianson. He certainly looks a bit like a Swede, ready for another overcast October day. Just give this guy a scarf and he’s all set.

IKEA Insta-glory

Here’s another random, lovely Instagram image tagged #ikea that I should’ve posted last week. There’s no prize to be had. Only the fleeting, oddly fulfilling high of internet glory.

@juliekuliee

@jessicapangers

One of my job joys is doing things nobody tells me to do, like thumb through Instagram images tagged #ikea. I’ll start sharing my weekly favourite, just because. There’s no prize to be had. Only the fleeting, oddly fulfilling high of internet glory.

So here’s to you, @jessicapangers. I hope you see this and smile.

A video on how NOT to use Instagram

michelebianchi123:

“If Facebook is Lucky Charms, Instagram is just the marshmallows.”

Check out this short and entertaining  video by filmmaker Casey Neistat to see how rapper Rick Ross uses Instagram in a cool way and how pre-teen heartthrob Justin Bieber hasn’t figured it out yet.

Wondering what to do with all those Instagram photos you post to Facebook? The Lumi Process, developed by an LA company, uses sunlight to print your images directly onto fabric.

Check out the video to see the whole process. Fund them on Kickstarter if you like what you see.

Simple introductory overview of social media. Most of all though, this makes me want doughnuts.

Poor Google + but it could be worse, it could be Google Wave. Man that was a stinker.
