Recently, at work, the subject of plywood came up. In the past few years it (along with OSB) has become trendy to use in home decor (Just pick up an ELLE DECOR magazine, and you’ll see what I mean). Some of us embrace this trend, while others feel it looks cheap.
When I saw this video by Tom Sachs, (a personal hero of mine because of his work in relation to consumer culture – one of my FAVORITE subjects). I was at once taken with it. Whether you like or loathe plywood, you can’t deny this is a beautiful love letter to it.
